  1. Opening: Lattices / Field Guide. ORGANIZE YOUR MAC. Snapping, tiling, and workspaces. Three jobs that window tools can help with.

  2. 0–10 seconds

Snap a window. You choose the position. Put the selected window on the left.

  3. 10–20 seconds

Tile automatically. Rules arrange the windows. The layout adapts as a managed window joins.

  4. 20–30 seconds

Group a workspace. Keep related work together. Windows, projects, or sessions share a context.

  5. 30–40 seconds

Choose the job. Place one. Arrange several. Return to a context. Tools overlap; workspace behavior varies by app.

  6. On-screen diagram labels: Snapping; Place one; Automatic tiling; Arrange several; Workspace; Return to a context; Planning; Browser; Notes; Terminal; Tools may combine these jobs.

The idea

Snapping places a chosen window. Automatic tiling applies a layout to managed windows. A workspace groups related work so you can return to a context. Tools can combine these ideas, and workspace behavior varies by app; the name alone does not promise process restoration or a macOS Space.
