# Canvas > Spatial notes, placement, and named desks. Documentation: https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs Canvas 2.3.0 ships `Canvas.app` and the `canvas` CLI. `blink` and `Blink.app` remain compatibility names. The npm package remains `@arach/blink`, and existing notes stay in `~/Library/Application Support/Blink/`. A nonempty `CANVAS_HOME` takes precedence over a nonempty `BLINK_HOME`; no data move is required. **First check** Canvas owns spatial notes: one Markdown file per floating panel, placement, and named desks. It does not control other windows or speak. Agent guide: [Canvas — instructions for agents](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/agents/index.md). First check (read-only): `blink ls --json` Expect: The note list as JSON. Set `BLINK_HOME` to a scratch directory for automation that must not touch the user's notes. ## Current documentation - [Overview](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/overview.md): What Canvas is, how to install it, and how it relates to Lattices. - [Concepts](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/concepts.md): Canvas's model of notes, panels, files, configuration, workspaces, and device sync. - [Canvas CLI](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/cli.md): The 2.3.0 release contract uses canvas; blink remains a compatible executable alias, and the npm package remains @arach/blink. It starts with LAN as its only enabled route, but its transport boundary can la - [Canvas — instructions for agents](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/agents/index.md): Canvas is a native macOS spatial note-taking app. It is designed to be operated by humans and agents through the same local files. - [Agent socket API](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/api.md): The implemented JSON-RPC methods and events on Canvas's local Unix socket. ## Retrieval - [Public agent instructions](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/AGENTS.md) - [Full context](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/llms-full.txt) - [Structured documentation](https://lattices.dev/canvas/docs/agent-docs.json) - [All products](https://lattices.dev/llms.txt)
